Whats up! Im going to Michigan soon to see my family, I can't wait. It is gonna be fun. Well this is the last week of school for 2 weeks following up to 2011. See ya 2010! ha. Weekend was good just hung out with a lot of people. I am also getting ready for these bowl games here soon Hopefully Michigan wins, they play Mississppi State. I think it will be a decent game. Alright well this is all I really have to say, here we go, off for 2 weeks! I'll be seeing you guys when we come back. Peace.

My weekend was cool. On Frday I chilled with friends, and stayed the night at Alex's. On Saturday, i stayed at home all day and watched movies and basketball. Later that night I saw a bunch of people at josh's house and i chilled there for a little bit. Then i went back home. On Sunday, I watched TV and watched the Lions beat the Packers 7 to 3. It was a slow game but we pulled out a victory for once! ha and yeah watched some more football that day and did homeworkd. So yeah, the weekend was pretty boring but I hope that next weekend will be better. Deuces.

My weekend was pretty good. I was at Alex's on Friday, with Troy, Nick, Josh, Richard, Jason, Jon, and Drew. It was really fun and cooool. We chilled the whole night. On Saturday, I stayed at home and relaxed but I did get my new snowboard and picked that up from polaris and got a lot of driving hours. I can not wait till I get my license. Also, I watched some tv and chilled. Sunday, I went to a Nissan dealership with my dad, I don't really like Nissan cars. But my dad forced me to go so I did. Later that day I did some homework and watched some more football. The Lions lost once again and I saw the BCS games (the selection) and I am pretty happy with the games. Another good thing that is coming up, is that my grandma is coming up to Ohio cause my mom is going to get her and she is visiting for the weekend. I can't wait! She is so good at cooking. Nightjohn, "Mascot" and The Great Debaters Essay.

     Nightjohn is a story about a little girl named Sarny who lives on a slave plantation.  The story shows the life as a slave.  In Chapter 2, Sarny describes life in the plantation and how she does not know about reading or wealth.  Sarny's mom does not want her to collect money because she said people will take it away from her.  Also, Sarny's mom cooks on the plantation.  Waller, the plantation owner is described in this chapter. He carries a whip.  In Chapter 3, Nightjohn comes into the story.  Nightjohn is describes as having scars on his back from being whiped a lot.  Sarny meets Nightjohn at night, when Nightjohn asks for a lip of tobacco. Sarny asks him why he wants to tobacco and Nightjohn says he will exchange 3 letters for some tobacco.
The letters he was talking about were A, B, and C.  The first thing Sarny learned to write was "100 lbs".  Her mom told her not to learn how to read because if the slave owners see her learning they will whip her.  In Chapter 4, many things happened.  Jim and Pawley are talked about in this chapter, about how they tried escaping the plantation and how they died trying to leave.  Next, a girl named Alice is introduced.  Alice is a air-headed girl who was used for breeding.  Alice was whipped one day, and after that she tried running away but she did not get away because dogs visously attacked her.  She did survive though.  Later in the chapter, mammy sees Nightjohn teaching Sarny how to read and write and she hits Nightjohn.  Nightjohn covinces mammy to let him teach her so their story can get out.  After this, mammy is convinced and Nightjohn teaches Sarny more letters.  That is what happened in the chapters of Nightjohn.

 

“Mascot” is the story of Malcolm X when he is thirteen years old and is going through a important time of his life.  First, Malcolm describes how he first tried to become a boxer, but lost twice to a white boy named Bill Peterson.  Malcolm said he was embarrassed to even go to school because he lost to Bill.  After, he describes how his actions during school got him sent to reform school.  He would be going to a detention home in Mason, Michigan which was runned by Mr. and Mrs. Swerlin.   While Malcolm was staying with the Swerlins, he starts to realize something about white people that he soons has a problem with them because of this.   Malcolm thinks that all white people treat him well, but still treat him as if he were a pet, rather than another person like them.  He says a white man will never see a black man as he sees himself.  At school he is actually very popular, he even becomes class president but still notices the same thing.  Teachers and students use offensive language around him as if he would not care, and treat him more like a mascot than another student.  Malcolm in this chapter is impacted a lot when his half-sister, Ella, comes to visit from Boston.   Ella was a fairly successful woman in Boston. Malcolm really begins to look up to her.   Malcolm has the chance to visit her when shes asks him to.  While in Boston, Malcolm experiences a sense of community among other black people that he has never experienced before. He is very surprised by this and actually enjoys it. A event occurs in his life when he has a talk with his English teacher, Mr. Ostrowski.  When Malcolm tells Mr. Ostrowski that he wants to be a lawyer when he grows up, Mr. Ostrowski tells Malcolm to be realistic, and that Malcolm should consider something like carpentry instead.  But, Mr. Ostrowski encourages other white students to strive to be things like nurses and veterinarians, even though they are not as good of students as Malcolm.  This changes Malcolm inside.  Malcolm ends up moving to Boston with Ella, where he is happy.  That is what happens in "Mascot".

 

The movie The Great Debaters, Nightjohn and "Mascot" all show similarities to each other.  The movie was similar to Nightjohn because they both took place in Texas.  In each one of the titles there is rascism.  NightJohn and the movie occured in the South.  The movie and Nightjohn talked about reading and writing.  Harvard was in Boston and thats where Malcom X was.  Malcoml X feels a black expeirience when he visits Boston and so do the people in the movie.  Malcolm X and Samantha Booke were similar because they both wanted to be lawyers.  The Debate team went to Boston just like Malcolm X. Malcolm X and the debate team were both from small schools.  There were also many differences.  Nightjohn had slavery but the movie and "Mascot" did not have slavery, those blacks were free.  Next, Malcolm X lived in the North. Malcolm was also the only black man in his school while the debate team was from an all black college.  Also when Malcolm went to live with a white family he was openly welcome.  The debate team was looked apon badly when they were debating a white college.  These are the similarities and differences with the two stories we read in class and the movie we watched in class.

Hey, the weekend was good. On Friday, I hung out with my friends Josh, Richard and Alex. Since Josh can drive we went to many different places during the day and night so yeah that was fun. We also met up with some other people through out the night. Then we had to wake up early because I was getting a ride home from Josh in the morning and he was going to a wedding early so he took me home at like 9. Oh and by the way this is the Josh that is in our class. So on Saturday I watched some football like usual and went out to eat with my family. My cousins from Michigan were in town for the weekend. It was nice seeing them. Sunday, was really boring as normal. I did homework and watched more football. Also, played a little xbox. Thats pretty much it, and in class we are watching this movie with Denzel Washington and it's actually not that bad. Its kind of interesting. I know when we finsih it we are going to have like a paper on it, cause thats what Mr. Potter always does. Anyways, peace.

Hey, my weekend kinda sucked. I was grounded once again so i didn't do anything on friday. I stayed at home all night and fell asleep so early. I felt like I was 6. But anyways i realized that night that I didn't have any homework over the weekend and in english class I killed that test over the trial book, and so I was happy about that. On SAturday I went to my friend jacobs house, and there was this little party for this this girl named Amada's birthday party. It was pretty fun, I mostly chilled with some other kids and not her. Oh and by the way, Josh was there, the kid who is in our class lol. Then today, obviously as you can see I forgot about this stupid stupid stupid stupid blog again, so pointless. Also, today I watched the Lions lose to a worse team them they are when they go into OT with the Jets the previous week but cant even beat the Bills. Like come on now, seriously? Anways today was boring, did some homework and ate. Thats it. See ya people.

Hey. The weekend was good. i just chilled out but i was grounded so that sucked. On Friday I did not do anything but play xbox all night because i was grounded haha. Then on Saturday I went to the boys soccer game at Dublin and we lost. It sucked, everyone was so bummed out. I was with my friends, Nick, Joey and Austin. Austin drove us. Afterwards we got steak and shake which was amazing as usual. I ate so much ha. We were like little kids there, we all were wearing the hats they have, coloring, playing tic tac toe vs. each other and building cars lol. We just messed around the whole time. Next on Sunday, I just hung out around the house and fell asleep then I went to my friend Alex's house. We met up with a couple other people then went to Jon's house then back to Alex's. My lions lost in OT against the jets, I was so pissed. But its whatever we just need to learn how to finish. Michigan won in a triple overtime against Illoinois I think. Like 67-65, crazy. Soooo yeah that was my weekend, it was alright, could have been better if I was not grounded. Peace.

Annoying.

These blogs are really annoying and dumb, not gonna lie. Sorry Mr. Potter but they are. I mean like it just does not interest me doing all of these blogs every week and for the next year. I'm not to excited for them but I still do them. Anyways, we had the test Friday and that was kind of hard. We finished up the movie as well. Its super cold out by the way. I love the cold though. This weekend was alright. Me and my friend Alex hung out on Friday and chilled with some other people. On Saturday, my nephew and niece came over and they hung out at my house. That was a boring day and so was Sunday. All I did was sit around and watch TV all day. So yeah this weekend was okay at best. Only good thing is that I'm watchin Happy Gilmore right now, this movie is hilarious. Okay guys, see ya.

HEY

Hey guys. What's up? My weekend was pretty good, mostly just chillin. On Friday I went to my friend Jon's house. That was real fun, we went to the game and Gahanna was actually blowing out someone so bad that everybody was leaving before the game ended. On Saturday I chilled at my house and went to Easton with my mom to get a new hat and a new xbox game. My hat is so sweet, it is a black and white Detroit Tigers hat. Also, the new xbox game that I got is called Fallout New Vegas, it's so fun. I also watched some college football on Saturday and once again for the third week straight the number one team in the BCS lost their game. I think that is hilarious haha. Then on Sunday I just hung out with the family, did some homework and watched football. The normal life for me ha. Anyways, that was my weekend and it was really cool. See ya.

Long Weekend.

Whats up. I am at home right now chillin, watchin the game. Its a pretty good game, im also eating a carmel apple. They are tasty. This long weekend was so much fun i went to a party, and chilled with so many people. On wednesday I had a in-car lesson for 2 hours and that was okay, afterwards I hung out with my friend Alex then later that night I chilled with my other friends Sam and Brandon and I crashed at Sam's house. Thursday was boring but I got a new hat. Friday was a crazy day and night. I was with at least 11 people rollin in 2 cars hah we went to so many places that was a good night. On Saturday and Sunday I just relaxed did some homework and enjoyed the long weekend lol. So basically it was a fun weekend. See you guys next Sunday around this same time like always because i forget all the time lol. Peace.

Whats Good.

What up everyone, the weekend was too fun. This weekend was crazy, today was the first time i was home all weekend. Friday I went to the football game which was pretty fun like usual and Gahanna lost with like 2 seconds left haha, our team sucks. We let them come back when we were up 20 points. Then Saturday I went to homecoming with a group of friends. You already know I was lookin fresh. The gym was so hot like last year, everybody was sweating it was really gross. I was dancin everywhere, half of the time I did not even know who I was dancing with. Then there was a afterparty at my friends house with like 30 other people and that was cool. Also, during the week on Weds I went to the Kid Cudi concert... it was so sweet! I had so much fun! Oh by the way, today is 10/10/10 ha. Michigan lost :/ to Michigan St. Michigan got killed 34 to 17. Denard Robinson could not do anything but its whatever. I am gonna go to bed, you don't even understand how tired I am right now. Dueces people.

Sweet. Have not finished my paper yet and working on it now. God, here we go again with homework late at night. We need to chill out on essays and stuff, but whatever the weekend was good. If it wasn't for that I would be mad. But Friday I chilled with so many people and got my first response done on time on a Friday because I did it in class. If I didn't do it in class I probably would have never done it that night cause I didn't even go home  ha. So Friday was a good day and nighttt, then on Saturday I had the biggest Subway footlong ever. I had every meat on it with cheese, lettuce, mayo, vinegar and toasted of course. You already know the meat was double layerd too. All my friends say it was the best sandwhich they have ever had in their life, I mean of course it was; 1. I made it, 2. The guy could barely even  fold it, so right there you already know its gonna be good. Afterwords my friend dropped me off at my house then like 30 minutes later my other friend Adam came over and we did a science project for a little bit then when he left my nephew and sister came over. So that was fun, I fell asleep that night so early like at 12 I was so tired it wasnt even funny. I did so much the night before and that day that i couldnt even move. Then today on Sunday i just chilled finished up some homework, watched football and had mckydees so you already know its a good day when you have mcdonalds but yeah kind of a boring day, mad that Detroit lost but hey thats the story of my life right there. I also forgot to mention that Michigan and Michigan St. won over the weekend, congrats to both teams. Next weekend is going to be a good matchup when they vs. each other. I'm excited. Alright well I'm off I got to do my research paper, I'm not getting any sleep tonight I can feel it. Peace.

English is makin me mad.

I always forget about this blog. Im not gonna lie i dont really like it and this class is starting to lose my interest because we keep doing big projects. The class is good and so is the teacher I'm just not feelin the amount of work we are doin right now. But hey I'' do what i need to do to get a good grade. Anyways, this weekend Lions lost as usual, Michigan won which is good, Michigan St. won, and once again i went to Michigan this weekend. On Friday I chilled with my friends Alex and Evan, it was a good night. Then on Saturday I drove 3 hours to Michigan! My mom drove the last hour while i took a nap back to my grandma's house. Then on Saturday we left my grandma after being with her for a week at my house then i finally got to sleep on the way back to Ohio. Once again I am tired, i just got done watching the Jets game, it was a good one. Night people.

This weekend I had a wonderful time. This weekend i went to Michigan and went to go see my family and pick up my grandma to bring her back to my house cause she is staying there all week. Also, I researched more on the Rodney King trials and took notecards for Monday. On Friday, I couldn't go to the football game because i had to pack to go to Michigan. So i just played Halo Reach on the Xbox 360 all night, that game is so fun. Then on Saturday me and my mom left early at 9 a.m. to go to my grandmas house. I drove to Michigan because I have my temps. The people in Michigan are really crazy, they are so fast. Around 5 we got to my grandmas house then went out to dinner because it was her 80th birthday. The restaurant was so good. On Sunday we just drove back with my grandma and this time i just slept the whole way. Well that was my weekend and it was really fun.

Blog #1

Alright, this weekend was a good one. I had so much fun hanging out with people. On Friday I was just waiting until 2:50 because I had plans for everyday of the weekend and I could not wait until the day was over. Also, this weekend I had a lot of homework which always sucks. I was workin on my rought draft for english on a saturday! That's crazy for me to do homework that early so you know when im doing it then, i have a lot of homework. Friday I went to my friend Sam's house and met up with a bunch of people, then on Saturday I watched the OSU game with my friend Graeme. Later that day I went home and watched the rest of the Michigan vs. Notre Dame game... Thank god for Denard Robinson. I am so happy Michigan won, we need to do good this year and Denard Robinson is an excellent player to lead us. Denard broke like 5 records in one game. Next, on Sunday I had to wake up early to bake cookies for my Expierience with Foods class and my cookies turned out delicous. As always I watched some NFL games on Sunday and I don't know if you did not see it but the Detroit Lions got ripped off. The Lions are my favorite team(I was born in Detroit) and that makes me mad that they called Calvin Johnson for that bull crap. The rest of my Sunday was just homework, workin on the persuasive rough draft, math homework and etc. Then later in the night I was trying to do this blog and when I kept trying to get on it wasn't working! Everytime I would go to the website it said "Internet Explorer is not working". So I had to do it this morning. Well that was my weekend it was a crazy one. Peace.
